is having a job supposed to be our dream?

When I was little, I wanted to grow up being a doctor.
C'mon, don't tell me you never wanted to be a doctor when you were 7-8 years old??
That was everyone's dream job!

Then, when I discovered that I got dizzy with the sight (and smell) of blood,
I outgrew my dream career from becoming a doctor to becoming a reporter!

Haha! A very drastic change from medical line to journalism, oui?

The whole idea of seeing a group of people surrounding a public figure and fishing for news/facts or even factoids, was appealing to me (back then).
But, it was NOT that appealing to my mom, who was totally against the idea!
She said: "Being a reporter is a man's job. I don't wanna see you chasing politicians/celebrities... for the sake of asking what they did during the weekend, or what would be their favourite meal"
Hmm, parents will always be parents, right?

But, now, I'm thinking...
We always say, "My dream job is this... My dream job is that..."
Is having a job supposed to be our dream??
Does this mean, if we are not living our so-called dream job, we are not living our dreams?
And if we stop pursuing the job that we wanted so much, does that mean, we have given up our dreams?

I'm babbling..
Don't mind me.

If I were to chase my dream job (and be happy doing it),
would I be driving everyone's dream car by now?
I.Am.Not.Sure.
