the movie took over spidey's opening week record, so i was determined to watch it. being the wifey to a comic fan, i've sort of converted myself to become an avid fan of Marvel or DC Comics adaptation-movie..
i took the opportunity of mr hubby being on his offday. so, i arranged for us (read: mr hubby + moi, BFF nyna + her hubby, BFF jude + shin yi --> this pair aren't really a couple yet. but nyna and moi, are trying our best to hook them up!) to have a 'date' with Bruce Wayne, or famously known as Batman (errr, for hubbies and jude - that statement sounded a bit creepy, huh?) hehehe..
so, my opinion (read: im not speaking on behalf of the other couples):-
on this expected box-office movie: DAMN! THE MOVIE'S SUPERBLY COOL (with exclamation marks!)
on the storyline: it's good! it definitely has the continuation from Batman Begins. and, old characters were seen during the 1st part of the movie. remember, Dr Jonathan The Scarecrow Crane?? yeah, he was there. also mentions of Carmine Falcone - the old mob!
on Bat-Pod/Bat-Suit/Bat-Gadget: coolness to the max! now, im seriously thinking of riding the bike to work! convenient and stylish (as if!)
on Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman: apart from 'being hot', his acting is amazing! but, i dont really fancy his Batvoice. he sounded like he got a big lump of phlegm stucked in his throat! FYI, he's my 2nd fave Batman, after Micheal Keaton
on Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes: tho she's not as pretty, her acting is FAR and MUCH MORE better than Katie Holmes
on Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent, who evidently turned out to be Two-Face: he's on par with Christian Bale, but i wouldnt 'buy' that character of a District Attorney being blond! hehehe
hats off and standing ovation to Heath Ledger. his moves put me at the edge of my seat! he had undoubtedly put The Joker in a totally twisted but refreshingly-sick character. a total psychopath with a punching tagline: "why so serious?" i lurved it! (dont even think of comparing him with Jack Nicholson from Batman and The Joker, back in 1989)
im sure there'll be a continuation to The Dark Knight, with Two-Face avenging Rachel Dawes' death..
*patiently waiting... sigh*
