work spouse matters

it's been a while since i really write here. my previous entries were all about wat i did, where i went.. me, me, me.. plus, lots (and lots) of pix taken during camwhoring sessions! hahahhaa... since im writing from office, and pix cant be uploaded here (yeah, it's blocked. i know, wat else is new, rite?), i thot why not share my thots, in words, with u.. :)

couple of weeks back, i read somewhere (on the net) about an interesting topic: work spouse, which got me wondering: do i have a work spouse? hehehe..

for those of u who are not familiar with the terms, work spouse basically means a co-worker of the opposite gender with whom u have a close platonic relationship. in many ways, these relationships can mirror a real marriage.

after some Google-ing on the topic, these r wat i found:
1) You depend on your work spouse for office supplies, snacks and aspirin.
2) There are inside jokes that you and your work spouse share.
3) You can be bluntly honest with your work spouse about his or her appearance, hygiene or hair (and vice versa). You're comfortable enough to point out that the other's hair is sticking up -- or that someone's fly is down.
4) When something eventful happens at work, this work spouse is the first person you seek out for a de-briefing.
5) At breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks, your closest co-worker knows what to order for you and how you like your coffee (and vice versa).
6) You and your co-worker can finish each other's sentences.
7) Someone in your office knows almost as much about your personal life as your best friend or real-life spouse does.

and, after much analysing, (even tho only some of the points stated are applicable to me) i do admit, that i have a work spouse (or spouses), maybe...
wait, i think i have 1 of each gender! hahahaha...

i dont need to explain much when it comes to work spouse of the same gender. it's not an unsual thing for 2 women to develop a very close friendship (from the initial stage of merely being colleagues). this work spouse of mine, we share all stories, problems, gossips, funny and sad moments. heck, even our 'that time of the month' revolves around the same dates! hahahaha.. sorry miz nyna, for sharing this fact to my readers out there (dont worry, i dont have THAT many readers anyway. hehehe)

now, my work spouse of the opposite gender? hmmm, i dont share almost everything with him.. but, there are things that we tell each other, and we dont share it with others. it's just us.. but, trust me, my relationship with him is purely platonic! sometimes, when i have something good to share, i'd tell him 1st, rather than mr. hubby.. :)
(for some people out there, it's quite hard to develop a platonic relationship with the opposite gender. i do agree to some extent.. coz, trust me, it's not easy being close to someone of the opposite gender, and not having that extra feeling towards him/her).
mr. hubby knows that i have this relationship with him, and he doesnt mind at all. hehehe.. even his name is mentioned by kiddos at home. so, to this NOT-jude-law, thanx for being a great friend, but most of all, thanx for putting up with my 'mengada-ness'! hahahahahhahaa...

apart from these work spouses of mine, im glad to be blessed with all the great friends i have in my life.. be it childhood friends or college buddies. and, i wouldnt wanna have it otherwise!
