Through my line of work, I'd like to think that (sometimes) I'm fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to meet real people, who can share inspring stories about their families.
Since the nature of my Comp is education/franchise,
therefore, most of the time, I am required to meet the parents who send their children to our programme;
well, apart from (occasionally) getting to meet some successful people telling how they started their empire from scratch...
My work trip to Kelantan few weeks back had brought me to meet with a parent from Maldives.
They've been staying in KB for few years now, since the wife is completing her studies with USM.
The interview that I had with them, turned into a culture-sharing conversation,
when I shamelessly asked them about Maldives.
I asked them: "So, is Maldives as beautiful as people say it is?"
Their answer: "Yes!"
So, they got into talking about how many islands that are surrounding Maldives,
how the people spend their daily lives, the attraction spots, so on and so forth...
and how I wish I could fly there in a blink!
Mazrah loves to say this: "if wishes were horses, beggars would ride..."
The parents, coming from such a beautiful place, one of the most talked about tourism spots,
were surprisingly very humble people..
I guess, all the "being foreigners" don't really get into their heads.
I wish some people that I know can be as humble as them...
It wouldn't be a bad thing if we were to become permanent islanders, huh?
